‎New Injury for Eagles’ Striker Casts Doubt on Chelle’s Dream Team

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers has disclosed that forward Kelechi Iheanacho might have suffered a hamstring injury during the club’s 2-1 Europa League win against Sturm Graz on Thursday.

‎The Nigerian international’s participation was abruptly ended early in the match when he had to be substituted due to a knock, allowing Johnny Kenny to come on as a replacement.

‎Celtic’s injury troubles persisted as defender Alistair Johnston also exited the field shortly thereafter with a hamstring issue, while center-back Cameron Carter-Vickers concluded the match with an ankle problem.

‎The three players are now uncertain for the crucial Premiership encounter against Hearts at Tynecastle on Sunday, with Celtic currently trailing their opponents by five points.

‎Following the match, Rodgers voiced his concerns regarding the injuries, particularly for Iheanacho, who has been performing remarkably well since he arrived at the club.

‎”Regarding Iheanacho, it doesn’t appear promising. It seems to be hamstring-related. However, that’s part of the game.”

‎In this context, it is significant to note that the Nigerian international striker Kelechi Iheanacho may be unable to participate in the Super Eagles’ World Cup playoff in Morocco next month due to this injury.

‎ This situation could certainly pose a challenge for head coach Eric Chelle in terms of player selection, especially regarding who will provide robust support for Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen
