The National Youth Council of Ogoni People (NYCOP) has honoured His Royal Majesty, King Solomon Ndigbara, the Gbenemene BuaBori, with an award for distinguished service in peacebuilding, crime prevention, and community development.

The honour, presented during a courtesy visit late Wednesday to the Gbenemene’s palace in Kpite, Tai Local Government Area, recognised King Ndigbara’s leadership role in restoring peace and strengthening local security across Ogoni communities.

At the recent event, NYCOP also appointed His Royal Majesty, King Samuel La Nnee, the Gbenemene of Tai Kingdom and Chairman of the Supreme Council of Ogoni Traditional Rulers, as its Grand Patron for his sustained efforts in promoting peace, unity, and sustainable development in Ogoniland.

Receiving the delegation, King La Nnee expressed gratitude for the recognition, describing it as humbling and inspiring. He said the honour would further strengthen his resolve to serve Ogoniland with integrity and courage, urging youths to uphold peace and truth in leadership.

“Leadership is not about power, but responsibility,” he said. “Ogoni needs visionary youths who will defend the truth and build bridges of peace.”
