Fubara’s Promise: Hope for Emohua Road Users

Like a breath of fresh air, Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s leadership has brought sunshine to Rivers State, transforming it with good governance, peace, and development, making him a shining light for a brighter future, where progress and prosperity flourish.

He has demonstrated a strong commitment to infrastructure development and community transformation. Despite inheriting 34 uncompleted projects valued at over N225 billion, his administration has made significant progress in completing some of these projects while initiating new ones.

Smooth roads and shining infrastructures pave the way to prosperity, connecting dreams to destinations, and turning visions into reality as opposing to bad roads and poor infrastructures which have far-reaching consequences.

They lead to increased travel times, reduced accidents, and vehicle damage, affecting the economy and disrupting daily life. Poor roads also impact public health and safety, limiting access to essential services like healthcare and emergency services. Vulnerable populations, such as the poor and elderly, are disproportionately affected.

The governor’s focus on road infrastructure has been particularly noteworthy. Projects like the Port Harcourt Dual Carriage Ring Road, Trans-Kalabari Road, and Bori Internal Roads are not only improving connectivity but also boosting economic activities in key areas.

These developments are likely to enhance the quality of life for residents, facilitate trade, and attract investments. In a bid to develop bad roads, the governor had an inspection tour of two critical road projects both in Emohua Local Government Area, and in Kalabari Kingdom on Tuesday 7th October which he had started before his suspension.

The Emohua and Kalabari road’s condition was a source of frustration and stress for commuters, who had to navigate through the treacherous terrain on a daily basis. The situation was particularly dire during the rainy season, when the road became almost impassable.

It was also the cause of insecurity to road users as bandits took advantage of the road’s condition and kidnapped, robbed and even killed innocent civilians.

The road was notorious for its deplorable condition, causing immense hardship for citizens. The road’s poor state led to frequent accidents, damage to vehicles, and increased travel times. Residents and commuters alike struggled with the road’s potholed and cratered surface, which made every journey a challenging and potentially hazardous experience.

The road’s condition also had economic implications, as it affected the transportation of goods and services, and disrupted economic activities in the region. The poor state of the road also limited access to essential services, such as healthcare and education, and made it difficult for emergency services to reach those in need.

However, with the current administration’s efforts to upgrade the road, and complete the project by December this year, citizens can now look forward to a safer, more efficient, and more reliable transportation route, which is expected to boost economic activity and improve their overall quality of life.
