Bonny Legislative Council Confirms Five Supervisory Nominees

The Bonny Local Government Legislative Council, 10th Assembly, has confirmed five supervisory nominees presented by the Executive Chairman of Bonny Local Government Area, Amasenibo Hon. Abinye Blessing Pepple, DSSRS.

Those confirmed include Mr. Achusi Austin Pepple, Sir Hayford Banigo, Pastor Tamunobarabinye R. Jumbo, Engr. Godwin Hart, and Mr. Sofiri Bennett Pepple. The nominees were screened in line with Section 32, Subsections 1, 2, and 3 of the Rivers State Local Government Law No. 5 of 2018.

The screening exercise, held on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at the Legislative Assembly Complex in Bonny, was presided over by the Leader of the House, Rt. Hon. Kingsley Tammy Jumbo.

Speaking after the confirmation, Rt. Hon. Jumbo commended the nominees for their composure and grasp of governance issues during the exercise. He expressed confidence that their diverse expertise and track records would enhance effective governance and development in the local government area.

He urged the newly confirmed officials to discharge their duties with diligence, humility, and a sense of collective responsibility, emphasizing the need for them to justify the confidence reposed in them by both the council chairman and the people of Bonny.

The nominees are expected to be inaugurated by the Executive Chairman in the coming days, after which they will formally assume their respective roles in the local government administration.
