Gen. Bello to Corps Members: You Are Nigeria’s Future

The Commander of the 6 Division Garrison, Nigerian Army, Brigadier General A.A. Bello, has described corps members as the future of Nigeria.

Bello made this remark on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, when he visited the 2025 Batch B Stream II Corps Members at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Nonwa-Gbam Tai, Rivers State.

He emphasized the high expectations the nation has of them, noting that Nigerians view corps members as beacons of hope and architects of a new Nigeria.

The commander further urged the corps members to embody values of discipline, patriotism, and integrity, stressing that these qualities are essential for creating positive change both in their personal lives and in the nation at large.

Meanwhile, in response to the advocacy efforts of the state NYSC coordinator, chairmen of Eleme and Ahoada East Local Government Areas have pledged their support towards enhancing NYSC activities and welfare of corps members in their councils.

The Ahoada East LGA chairman, Hon. Solomon Abuba Ochoma, expressed his administration’s commitment to constructing a corps lodge within a short timeframe.

Ochoma also assured NYSC that the security and welfare of corps members posted to his LGA would be his top priority. Further, he volunteered to sponsor the football finals of the ongoing orientation exercise.

The council chair also pledged to prioritize the completion of the abandoned permanent corps lodge, assuring that the project would be delivered and inaugurated soon.

These recent commitments by the council leaders reflect the positive outcomes of the NYSC State Coordinator’s strategic engagements with key stakeholders in the state.
