The Bishop of the Niger Delta Diocese, Anglican Communion, Rt. Rev. Emmanuel Oko-Jaja, has commended the Chairman of Bonny Local Government Area (LGA), Hon. Abinye Pepple, for the developmental progress recorded under his administration.
The cleric, Rt. Rev. Oko-Jaja made the remark on Friday during a courtesy visit to the Bonny Council Secretariat in Rivers State. He was accompanied by senior members of the clergy.
Rt. Rev. Oko-Jaja congratulated Hon. Pepple on his inauguration, noting with pride that both the Chairman and his Vice, Ibinyefagha Alabere, are members of the Anglican Church.
He assured the Council of the Church’s continuous prayers and spiritual support, expressing optimism that God’s guidance would sustain peace and development in the area.
In his response, Hon. Pepple welcomed the Bishop and his delegation, appreciating their visit and spiritual encouragement. He reiterated his administration’s resolve to put God at the centre of governance and decision-making.

The Council boss also announced the appointment of Ven. Peter Blu-Attoni as Chaplain of the Bonny Local Government, describing it as a step towards strengthening collaboration between the Church and the Council.
Pepple reaffirmed his commitment to working with the Church to maintain harmony, promote moral values, and advance the overall growth of Bonny.
The visit concluded with special prayers by Rt. Rev. Oko-Jaja for the Chairman, his Vice, Secretary to the Local Government, Tamunotonye Jumbo, and other officials, seeking divine wisdom and protection for the success of the administration.
