President Tinubu Appoints Heads of Three Federal Agencies

The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of three new Heads of Federal Agencies in a bid to improve their operational efficiency.

In a statement by the Director of Information and Public Relations in the Office of the Secretary of the Federation (OSGF), on Tuesday 30 September, 2025 President Tinubu appointed Bello Bawa Bwari from Niger State as the new Director-General of the National Biosafety Management Agency, an agency which provides regulatory framework to adequately safeguard human health and the environment from potential adverse effects of modern biotechnology and its products for an initial term of four years, effective from September 18, 2025 in accordance with the provision of Section 5 of the National Biosafety Management Agency, 2015.

The statement added that Hon. Aminu Junaidu from Zamfara State was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of the Investment and Security Tribunal section 274 of the Investments & Securities Act 2007, for the resolution of disputes in the Nigerian Capital Market for a five-year term, effective September 18, 2025.

President Tinubu also approved the appointment of Olayiwola Nurudeen Awakan as Director-General of the Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation, the body responsible for the development, promotion and marketing of Nigeria’s vast tourism products and potentials, within and outside the borders of Nigeria for an initial four-year term, effective September 2, 2025.

According to the statement, President Tinubu tasked the appointees to contribute their expertise in the development of the agencies for the good of the nation.

The statement added that the appointments underscored President Tinubu’s commitment to strengthening key sectors and institutions in the country.
