‎Galatasaray Set Date for Osimhen’s Return from Injury

Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen is anticipated to be out of action until the end of September due to an ankle injury he incurred while representing Nigeria two weeks ago.

‎Osimhen suffered an ankle injury during Nigeria’s 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers match against Rwanda two weeks prior.

‎Since that time, he has not returned to play, even after departing the Super Eagles camp early to seek treatment at Galatasaray.

‎The 26-year-old forward missed Galatasaray’s match against Eyupspor last weekend and was also excluded from the squad that faced a 5-1 defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt in the UEFA Champions League on Thursday.

‎Initially, Osimhen’s injury appeared to be minor, as he walked off the pitch unaided during the game against Rwanda.

‎However, it now seems that Osimhen’s injury is more severe, as he has been absent for two matches with Galatasaray since the international break.

‎Currently, a new report indicates that Osimhen is expected to be sidelined for an additional two games. This means he will miss Galatasaray’s upcoming matches against Konyaspor and Alanyaspor.

‎Nevertheless, he is projected to make his return on September 30, when Cimbom faces Liverpool at Rams Park in their second match of this season’s Champions League. Galatasaray is likely to perform adequately without Osimhen in their next two Super Lig fixtures, but the Super Eagles star will be crucial if they aim to overcome Liverpool.
