Wike Commends Tinubu for Restoring Democracy in Rivers

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has applauded President Bola Tinubu for lifting the state of emergency in Rivers State and reinstating democratic governance.

In a statement released recently by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, Lere Olayinka, the Minister praised the President’s swift intervention.

He stated it prevented further political turmoil and reinforced his dedication to national peace and democratic principles. Wike said the President’s decision has restored public trust in his leadership among the people of Rivers State.

The former Rivers State governor also expressed gratitude to the residents of the state for their steadfast faith in the President and their continuous support for his efforts to guide Nigeria toward progress.

The FCT Minister urged all parties in Rivers State to put aside their differences and cooperate for the collective benefit of the state and its citizens. He warned against individuals who profit from conflict, advising them to stay away from the state.

He directed Governor Siminalayi Fubara, his deputy, and members of the State House of Assembly to resume their duties today.

Tinubu further explained that his decision to impose emergency rule had been necessary to stabilise the state during its political turmoil.
