Rivers-born actress and filmmaker, Ibinabo Fiberesima, has taken to social media to call out Access Bank and an unnamed individual after losing a staggering N1.5 million from her account, just days after releasing her highly anticipated movie Amanyanabo: The Eagle King.
The veteran actress, who is also a former beauty queen, expressed her shock and pain in a series of posts on Tuesday, alleging that the fraudulent transactions were carried out by someone very close to her. Despite pleas from friends and family to remain silent, Ibinabo insists she will eventually expose the culprit.
“Access Bank, please come and explain why my account has been hacked oooo,” she wrote in frustration. “People of God, please share till @accessbank answer me ooo. 1.5m in one minute. Her post, which quickly gained traction online, drew sympathy from fans and colleagues in the entertainment industry. Many expressed outrage at the situation, particularly given the tough economic realities in the country.
Ibinabo revealed that the betrayal cut deeper than the money lost: “I was hit by my most trusted people. This life, trust no one. I will call them out. This is too painful,” she lamented.
Though she is yet to disclose the identity of the alleged insider behind the fraud, despite pleas from friends and fans, the actress remains resilient, channelling her energy into the ongoing promotion of Amanyanabo: The Eagle King, which has been receiving positive reviews since its release.
For now, her fans await both the bank’s official response and the shocking revelation of who betrayed her trust.
