PHOTOS: Tinubu Returns to Abuja After Vacation

President Bola Tinubu has returned to Abuja on Tuesday evening, concluding his “working vacation” in France ahead of schedule.

The Port City News earlier reported that Tinubu had initially departed Nigeria on September 4, 2025, for a 10-day annual leave that was meant to be split between France and the United Kingdom.

A statement from Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, confirmed the early return.

The former governor of Lagos State was received by top government officials, which includes Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Governor Abdullahi Sule, Chief of staff, Femi Gbajabiamila and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun and others.

“President Tinubu returns to Abuja: He was welcomed by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Governor Abdullahi Sule, Chief of staff, Femi Gbajabiamila and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun”, Onanuga wrote on his Facebook page.

During his time in Paris, President Tinubu held a private luncheon with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace.

The two leaders discussed strengthening cooperation between Nigeria and France, with a focus on deepening their partnership for mutual prosperity and global stability.

The State House Media Office released pictures from the launch which showed Tinubu and Macron in a warm handshake.

The two leaders met amid the political tension in France, where nationwide unrest broke out across the country.

The President’s early return signals his resumption of official duties. Tinubu’s early return is expected to see him re-engage with pressing national issues.
