Honda Introduces WN7 Electric Motorcycle

Honda has officially introduced the WN7, its first electric naked motorcycle for the European market, marking an important step in the company’s global electrification strategy.

Positioned within the “Fun” segment, the WN7 blends the thrill of sporty riding with the smooth, quiet experience of electric mobility.

The WN7 originates from Honda’s EV Fun Concept, first showcased at EICMA 2024. Its name reflects the development vision: “W” for Be the Wind, “N” for Naked styling, and “7” to indicate its performance output class.

With this launch, Honda is taking its concept model from the stage to the streets, signaling growing confidence in electric motorcycles designed for more than just commuting.

Though full specifications will be revealed at a later event, Honda has confirmed several standout features. The WN7 uses a fixed battery system and supports DC fast charging through the CCS Combo 2 port, enabling access to widespread EV charging networks.

Performance is expected to rival a traditional 500cc internal combustion engine motorcycle, placing it firmly in the mid-size category.

Design teasers highlight a single-sided swingarm, a TFT digital dashboard, and a sleek, sporty frame that caters to enthusiasts seeking both style and substance.

The unveiling of the WN7 underscores Honda’s pledge to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. Specifically, the company aims for all motorcycles in its lineup to be carbon-neutral by the 2040s.

Until now, Honda’s electric offerings have largely centered on commuter and urban mobility solutions. The WN7 expands this approach, providing an electric option for riders seeking excitement and performance, not just practicality.

With this launch, Honda demonstrates a serious push into the electric motorcycle space, aligning its innovation with broader sustainability goals while capturing new segments of the global two-wheeler market.
