Dele Momodu Says APC is Jittery Ahead of 2027

Publisher and politician Dele Momodu has accused the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) of being “jittery” and actively working to undermine the opposition ahead of the 2027 general election.

Speaking during an interview on Friday Momodu, a member of the opposition coalition African Democratic Congress (ADC), claimed the APC is sowing discord within opposition parties to avoid “strong competition.”

The CEO and publisher of Ovation International, a celebrity magazine’s comments come amidst a political firestorm following the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)’s recognition of a new ADC national working committee, led by former Senate President David Mark and former Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola.

The move has sparked internal wrangling within the ADC, with some members, including former presidential candidate Dumebi Kachikwu, threatening legal action.

According to the 65-year-old, this internal strife is a calculated outcome, not a coincidence. He suggested the ruling party prefers a scenario where all political parties would “rise up and endorse one man, and that is the President and Commander-in-Chief.”

Momodu stated that the conveners of the new ADC leadership were prepared for such attempts by “government agents” to thwart their efforts.

He likened the situation to what he claimed has occurred in other opposition parties like the Labour Party (LP), the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), where factions have been created.

He expressed little surprise that those who are aggrieved are heading to court, stating that the new leadership worked diligently behind the scenes to reach their current position.
