Brymo Reveals True Hidden Identity, Drags Wole Soyinka

Ọlawale Ọlọfọrọ, widely known as Brymo, has once again sent shockwaves through social media and the Nigerian music community. The perpetually controversial singer has publicly and dramatically identified himself with the spiritual entities of Èṣù and Shaitan. The artist took to his Instagram platform on Monday, September 1, to make a series of profound and enigmatic claims about his own nature, directly challenging Wole Soyinka in the process.

The declaration was made through a sequence of videos in which the singer elaborated on his views concerning secret cults and their perceived connection to the Yoruba deity, Èṣù. Brymo’s statements were not merely observational but deeply personal, framing himself as a central figure in a cosmic spiritual narrative.

He asserted that his identification stems from what he describes as a sustained campaign against him, claiming that followers of Èṣù had previously attempted to demonize and destroy him. This experience, he suggests, forged his current identity, aligning with the unforgiving nature of Shaitan.

Brymo drew a direct line from these personal trials to the broader existence of cult movements within society, even implicating his past experiences at Lagos State University (LASU), Chevron, and the music industry itself as evidence of this ongoing spiritual conflict.

In a direct address that escalated the stakes of his message, Brymo questioned the revered playwright, stating: “Dear Wole Soyinka, why did you start this killer movements.”

Unsurprisingly, the initial post ignited a firestorm of confusion and debate online, with many followers and commentators pleading for a clearer explanation of his meaning. In response, Brymo followed up with another post, delving further into themes of divinity and embodiment.

He declared: “If you look into me, I am here to say that the prof is here. A boy who has the mind of a man and a woman all wrapped in one body, me, emi ni esu for those of you that do not get it. I am telling you that I have experiences. I have been here long before him, before anyone of you. Esu. I am Shaitan in the flesh.”

This is not the first time Brymo has courted controversy with his unconventional and often provocative opinions on social and spiritual matters, having previously made headlines for his rejection of traditional bride price and his comments on other societal norms.
