‎Finidi highlights Rivers United target for 2025/26 NPFL season

Rivers United’s Manager, Finidi George, August 29, expressed that his main goal for the 2025/26 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season is to lead the Pride of Rivers into a serious title contention.

‎The former Super Eagles winger is confident that Rivers United possesses both the heritage and the backing necessary to regain their status among the nation’s football elite.

‎”Rivers United must strive to compete at the highest level,” Finidi stated. “We hold every team in the NPFL in high regard, but we are assembling a squad capable of contending for the title. Consistency, discipline, and the enthusiasm of our supporters will be crucial throughout the season.”

‎The ex-Ajax star has already started to reshape the team with the goal of restoring the dominance that Rivers United experienced during their championship-winning season in 2021/22.

‎As part of the club’s renewed effort to engage with its dedicated fan base, Rivers United has announced that their first home match of the season against Kwara United will be free for all attendees.
