Fans Die in Crash After Seyi Vibez Concert

The Nigerian entertainment scene is in mourning following the tragic death of several fans of singer Seyi Vibez, who reportedly lost their lives in a fatal car accident after attending his concert on Saturday night, August 23, at Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos Island.

According to eyewitness reports, the victims were involved in a reckless car race on the expressway while returning from the show. A user identified as shared a video of the aftermath on X (formerly Twitter), expressing shock and grief over the incident.

“They left the show and started racing on the express, trying to overtake other cars. Why race on the highway? May their souls rest in peace. SPEED KILLS,” she wrote.

The crash reportedly involved more than four vehicles, and occurred on the Third Mainland Bridge, one of Lagos’ busiest and most dangerous highways B C. Social media has since been flooded with tributes, warnings, and calls for safer driving practices, especially among young concertgoers.

One user lamented, “I know those three personally. One of the guys that died, his elder brother is my boxing trainer. It was a sad day indeed”.

The incident has reignited conversations around road safety, reckless driving, and the need for better post-event transport management in Nigeria’s entertainment industry.

Seyi Vibez has yet to release an official statement, but fans are urging the singer and event organizers to address the tragedy and promote safer behavior among attendees.
