APC Accuses PDP Governors of Hypocrisy, Failure

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has issued a rebuke to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governors, accusing them of “odiferous hypocrisy” and a failure to govern their states effectively.

APC stated this in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka in response to a communique from the PDP governors’ meeting in Zamfara on Saturday, August 23.

In their meeting, the PDP governors criticised the APC, alleging undemocratic conduct and a lack of vision.

The APC’s statement countered these claims, calling them “frivolous and senseless” and arguing that the PDP is a party in a state of “deep comatose.”

The APC highlighted its recent victories in bye-elections across the country, including in states governed by the opposition, such as Zamfara, Adamawa, and Kano.

The party presented these victories as proof of the public’s confidence in President Bola Tinubu’s administration and its “Renewed Hope” policies.

The APC dismissed the PDP’s complaints about the democratic process, calling it “infantile and irresponsible” for them to accept results where they won but reject them where they lost.

The party further claimed that Tinubu’s economic policies have increased federal revenue allocations to state governments, with July 2025 allocations exceeding ₦2 trillion—the highest in history.

Despite this, the APC stated, PDP governors have shown a “disgracefully dismal performance” in managing their states, failing their citizens.

The APC urged Nigerians to disregard the “empty and misleading rhetoric” of the PDP governors and to remain steadfast in their support for Tinubu’s administration, which it says is focused on national development and shared prosperity.

The party stated that Nigeria would not return to what it termed the “dark era” of the PDP-led federal government, which saw many states struggling with financial insolvency.
