The recent report claimed that the President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Ibrahim Gusau, announced that the organization will submit a project report to FIFA, the global governing body of football, regarding the development of the NFF-FIFA players’ hostel and new training pitches in Abuja.
According to the report, the facility, named the NFF-FIFA Players’ Hostel, features 68 rooms and is situated in the central area of Package B at the MKO Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.
This construction project is expected to take 24 months and is financed through the FIFA Forward 3.0 programme.
Gusau commended the contractors for their efficient work pace, noting that the groundbreaking ceremony took place on March 18 of this year.
During a site inspection on Thursday, Gusau, accompanied by several members of the NFF management, was guided through the various sections of the project by the lead architect, Gambo Ahmadu.
Following the inspection, Gusau expressed his satisfaction with the progress made at the site and conveyed his confidence that the contractors would meet the 24-month deadline for project completion.
”I am pleased with the work pace, the dedication demonstrated by the contractors, and the quality of the work observed thus far. They have a 24-month timeline to complete the players’ hostel and training pitches, and at their current rate, they should finish on or before that deadline.

”I am also impressed with the quality of the work. For the current NFF administration, this is a legacy project that holds significant importance for us.”
He added, “I am also glad that the project is conveniently located near the office, allowing members of the NFF Executive Committee (whenever they are in Abuja), along with myself and the NFF management and staff, to easily oversee the progress being made.”
The inspection also took Gusau and his team to the site of the new training pitches, as well as the old training pitch, which is set to undergo significant renovations.
