President Bola Tinubu has nominated Louis Odion and Ummasalma Rabiu for key positions within the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC).
According to a statement released by Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Odion has been nominated as Executive Commissioner, Operations, while Rabiu is nominated for Executive Commissioner (Corporate Services). The appointments are contingent upon Senate confirmation, as stipulated by the FCCPC Act of 2018.
Louis Odion, a seasoned journalist and former Senior Technical Assistant to Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on Media, hails from Edo State. Odion also served as the Commissioner for Information in Edo State. He holds two Master’s degrees, one in Modern War Studies from the University of Buckingham, United Kingdom, and another in International Law and Diplomacy from the University of Lagos.

Ummasalma Rabiu, a 35-year-old from Kano State, is the founder of the Usir Foundation, a non-profit organization focused on empowering underprivileged individuals and communities through education, skills development, and humanitarian efforts. She holds a degree in Business Administration.
Onanuga noted that Rabiu is a dedicated grassroots politician with a strong reputation for community engagement and for advocating inclusive governance, as well as promoting youth and women’s political participation.
