Galatasaray striker Mauro Icardi has shared his excitement about the upcoming season, particularly the opportunity to play alongside teammate Victor Osimhen more regularly.
Osimhen, the Nigeria’s Super Eagles forward joined the Turkish side this transfer window after playing for the club last season on loan from Napoli, a Serie A club.
Last season, the two forwards had limited playing time together due to an injury that sidelined Icardi.
This was disclosed in a statement posted on Galatasaray’s official website ahead of the team’s match against Fatih Karagümrük on Friday.

Icardi reflected on their brief time on the pitch last year saying, “Unfortunately, last year, there were only a few matches where we could be on the pitch at the same time as Victor. Those were some very enjoyable moments.”
Icardi stressed that while he values Osimhen’s individual talent, as demonstrated by the Nigerian’s achievement as the league’s top scorer, the team’s collective success is the ultimate priority.
The Argentine is focused on regaining his full fitness to contribute to Galatasaray’s goals in both domestic and European competitions.
