The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Rivers State Sector Command held a formal decoration ceremony for senior officers who were recently promoted.
The event took place at the Command’s premises in port harcourt were Five senior officers were decorated during the ceremony.
Four Deputy Corps Commanders were promoted to the rank of Corps Commander (CC), and one Assistant Corps Commander was promoted to the rank of Deputy Corps Commander (DCC). The promoted officers are:
- Deputy Corps Commander SO Ordu to Corps Commander
- Deputy Corps Commander O Alagoa to Corps Commander
- Deputy Corps Commander A. P Ebowemen to Corps Commander
- Deputy Corps Commander CV Mbaegbu to Corps Commander
- Assistant Corps Commander A. Apinah to Deputy Corps Commander
Sector Commander Corps Commander Inyang E. Umoh congratulated the newly promoted officers and urged them to rise to the occasion, emphasizing that promotion comes with greater expectations and responsibilities. Zonal Commanding Officer Assistant Corps Marshal Henry Benamaisia also congratulated the officers, reminding them that promotion is both a reward and a call to higher responsibility.

The decoration was performed by the Zonal Commander and other Service Chiefs present, including representatives from the Rivers State Police, Garrison Command, Air Force, Customs, Correctional Service, Immigration, NSCDC, and NDLEA.
Goodwill messages were delivered by the Garrison Commander, Air Force Commander, and Controller of Customs, commending the leadership of the Corps and encouraging the newly decorated officers to remain focused, committed, and professional.
The event were attended by Service Chiefs, the Zonal Commanding Officer, invited guests, and families of the promoted officer, and also it highlighted inter-agency collaboration and mutual respect among uniformed agencies in advancing the Corps’ mission of road safety.
