Controversial street-hop singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has lashed out at social media activist Martins Otse, aka Verydarkman, accusing him of manipulating public sentiment surrounding the death of singer Mohbad.

In a video broadcast shared on Instagram, Portable expressed outrage over Verydarkman’s recent comments and actions, particularly his ongoing feud with actress Iyabo Ojo, one of the earliest voices in the Justice for Mohbad campaign.

“Verydarkman, you came out deceiving Nigerians that you want justice for Mohbad. You’re a manipulator. Now, you’re dragging Iyabo Ojo. What’s really her offence?” Portable asked.

He criticised Verydarkman for allegedly making a U-turn on his original claims that Mohbad was killed by certain individuals, and for now appearing to undermine the campaign he once championed.

“You claimed you want justice for Mohbad, so why are you now going against Mohbad? Leave Mohbad and let him rest in peace. Why are you dragging the dead?” he said.

Portable also questioned Verydarkman’s credibility, stating that Nigerians are capable of discerning who truly supported Mohbad and who contributed to his suffering.

“Are you the one who will tell Nigerians who is good or not? We know people who are good people. We also know the people who bullied Mohbad. Stop deceiving Nigerians,” he added.

The video has sparked mixed reactions online, with some fans applauding Portable’s boldness and others urging restraint amid the sensitive nature of the case.

Mohbad, born Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, died in September 2023 under controversial circumstances, prompting widespread calls for justice and accountability.
