FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, acknowledged on Monday that President Bola Tinubu’s administration cannot resolve every issue plaguing the FCT. However, he maintained that the government is actively working on key projects to improve the lives of residents.
During a media briefing in Abuja, Wike addressed questions regarding the government’s development initiatives. He said, “All problems cannot be solved, even if this government stays for 20 years; no government can solve all problems. But the government is solving problems that will at least help to improve the lives of people.”
The former governor of Rivers State also clarified the administration’s approach to publicising its work. When asked why not all projects are being officially commissioned, Wike stated that the focus is on showcasing major, capital-intensive projects that have a significant impact.
He questioned the need to formally commission every single smaller project.
Wike encouraged the media to partner with his administration by visiting project sites with Mandate Secretaries to witness the progress firsthand in various sectors, including education and social development.
He reiterated that the goal of governance is to make a tangible difference in people’s lives, and that is what the current administration is focused on doing.
