Remo Stars Celebrate NPFL Victory, as Soname Donated N25m, and Car

It has been several months since they boldly etched their name into the history of the NPFL, and the team took a moment to bask in the glory of their inaugural title, hosting a celebration of befitting champions.

The event, which occurred yesterday, July 21, was not just a commemoration of their 2024/25 NPFL victory, but also a proclamation of their ambitions for the future.

In an afternoon filled with joy, aspiration, and acknowledgment, reports indicate that Remo Stars chairman Kunle Soname made headlines by presenting the team with a cash prize of N25 million and a new SUV to standout player Olamilekan Adedayo, who was recognized as both Best Player and Fans’ Player of the Season.

This event went beyond a standard trophy celebration. It represented the culmination of years of effort that transformed Remo Stars from mere contenders into champions.

According to the report, Remo Stars narrowly missed out in previous seasons, but statistics reveal that the Sky Blue Stars finally found their stride in 2024/25, clinching the NPFL title with 71 points, finishing a commanding seven points ahead of Rivers United, who secured second place.

Their success was built on consistency, determination, and a growing belief within the Ikenne-based club; a belief now bolstered by ample resources and strong leadership.

While addressing the players and officials at the gala, the club chairman expressed his pride in the team’s achievements and reaffirmed his commitment to building a football dynasty rooted in Ogun State.

He announced a N25 million reward for the title-winning squad and emphasized that the club’s women’s team, Remo Stars Ladies, would receive N10 million for their remarkable debut season that led them to the NWFL Super Six playoffs.

“This is not just about the men’s team. Our women’s team has made us proud in their inaugural season, and they too deserve recognition,” Mr. Soname remarked.
