Everton Emerges to Battle Dortmund, Fenerbahce for Ndidi’s Signature

Super Eagles midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi, is poised for a significant career transition as Bundesliga powerhouse, Borussia Dortmund, is reportedly interested in acquiring the Leicester City star.

According to the recent report, Dortmund, the eight-time German Bundesliga champions, are among several elite European clubs keen on signing the 28-year-old Nigerian international.

Although Ndidi is under contract with Leicester City until June 2027, there are increasing signs that his future may not be at the King Power Stadium.

Reports indicate that Dortmund’s interest coincides with recent claims of a potential £9 million release clause included in his contract following Leicester’s relegation.

Nevertheless, Leicester is thought to be aiming for approximately €15 million as they strive to maximize returns from one of their most prized assets.

In addition to Dortmund, Fenerbahçe has reportedly initiated discussions with Ndidi’s representatives, while Premier League clubs Manchester United and Everton are also keeping an eye on the situation.

Nonetheless, sources indicate that Dortmund may have an advantage due to their status as a Champions League club and their history of attracting top African talents.

Ndidi, who has earned 65 caps for Nigeria, has been a pivotal player at Leicester since his transfer from Genk in 2017.

However, with the Foxes now competing in the English Championship, the defensive midfielder is believed to be weighing his options as he aims to return to top-tier football.
