Former Super Eagles Winger Confirmed Dead

The former Super Eagles left-footed forward, Okwuchukwu ‘Allen’ Waobikeze, has sadly passed away, just a few days following the death of captain and goalkeeper Peter Rufai.

Affectionately referred to as ‘Babaoo’ by both fans and teammates, Waobikeze was celebrated for his powerful left foot and remarkable ball control. Although his appearances for the national team were limited due to fierce competition, he left a significant mark on Nigeria’s domestic football landscape.

He played a key role for clubs such as Sharks FC of Port Harcourt, BCC Lions of Gboko, and Iwuanyanwu Nationale (currently known as Heartland FC), gaining respect for his flair and skill on the field.

His passing was confirmed on Monday by his brother, Eli Waobikeze, through a statement on Facebook.
