“We Want £75M for Osimhen” – Napoli President Rejects New Gala Bid

Napoli has declined a formal offer of €70 million from Galatasaray for striker Victor Osimhen, as reported by transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

Romano disclosed on Friday that Galatasaray had submitted the bid earlier that day, accompanied by bank documents to ensure payment. However, Napoli’s president, Aurelio De Laurentiis, reportedly turned down the offer, demanding a guaranteed fee of €75 million for the Nigerian forward.

“I understand Napoli has now rejected a new formal proposal sent by Galatasaray today for Victor Osimhen,” Romano stated.

“Galatasaray proposed €70 million today with bank documents included for payment assurances… Napoli president De Laurentiis is seeking €75 million guaranteed and has rejected the offer,” he added.

This latest rejection signifies yet another hurdle in Galatasaray’s extended pursuit of the Super Eagles striker, with discussions having continued for several weeks.

This situation marks a departure from earlier reports that suggested the two clubs had made significant progress in negotiations regarding Osimhen’s €75 million transfer.

Previous accounts indicated that Galatasaray and Napoli were nearing the finalization of a deal that would permit the Turkish club to distribute the payment over five installments instead of paying the entire sum upfront.

Nevertheless, the recent bid does not meet Napoli’s valuation, even though Galatasaray provided the banking guarantees that the Serie A club had been requesting.

The Nigerian international had turned down a much more lucrative offer from Al-Hilal in the Saudi Pro League, opting instead to stay at Galatasaray, where he spent the previous season on loan.

Earlier reports suggested that Napoli was actively attempting to steer the Super Eagles striker towards a more profitable move to Saudi Arabia rather than accepting Galatasaray’s overtures.

Nigerian sports journalist and transfer insider Onyebuchi Onokala, also known as Buchi Laba, revealed that Napoli had previously rejected Galatasaray’s €75 million bid, despite it aligning with the official release clause amount.
