NECO Announces 2025 BECE Results, Schedules Resit Exams Set for July 23-24

The National Examinations Council (NECO) on Wednesday announced the release of the results for the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
Azeez Sani, the Acting Director of Public Affairs for NECO, in a statement, said a total of 179,201 candidates participated in the examination, which assessed students across 12 subjects.
The BECE, conducted from 12 to 23 May saw its results approved following the successful conclusion of the BECE Award Committee Meeting held at NECO’s headquarters in Minna.

Sani stated that Dr (Mrs) Folake David, Director of Basic Education at the Federal Ministry of Education and Chairperson of the Award Committee, expressed her satisfaction with the processes that led to the successful release of the results.

The meeting was also attended by various secondary school principals from across the country, alongside NECO management.

In addition to the main results, the Award Committee has also approved the dates and timetable for the 2025 BECE re-sit examination.

This resit is scheduled for 23 to 24 July and will cover two core subjects: Mathematics and English Studies.
