CAC Warns Against Attempts to Sabotage New AI-Driven Company Registration Portal

CAC

The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has issued a public warning against individuals deliberately attempting to sabotage its recently launched Intelligent Company Registration Portal (ICRP).

The Commission stated that these efforts involve intentionally bypassing the system’s smart features during the company registration process to discredit the platform.

In a public notice, the CAC clarified that the ICRP is an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-driven system that is continuously learning, adapting, and evolving with each user interaction.

“It is not static — it is getting smarter by the day,” the statement read, adding that the portal is expected to become even more independent and intuitive, promising unparalleled ease, speed, and compliance for company registrations shortly.

The CAC emphasised its appreciation for genuine user feedback, affirming that such input is crucial for refining the system to better serve the public.

However, the Commission urged the public not to be misled by those intentionally trying to manipulate the registration process to undermine the progress achieved.

The CAC called for collaborative efforts to build a robust system that benefits all users.

The Port City News earlier reported that CAC announced the commencement of a pilot programme for a new, AI-driven registration portal.

The Commission said the development marked a significant step in overhauling its Company Registration Portal (CRP) and streamlining business operations in Nigeria.

Registrar-General/CEO of the Corporate Affairs Commission, Hussaini Ishaq Magaji, revealed this at the 2025 Stakeholders Forum in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

Magaji stated that the new system is designed to make name reservation as straightforward as opening an email account, offering instant approvals for available names.

He added that the intelligent system will also suggest alternative names for selection and immediate approval if a preferred name is unavailable.
