“£50M is Peanut” Rio Pleads With Utd to Bid in For Nigerian forward over Galatasaray

Manchester United have made a commendable beginning to the summer transfer window. The Red Devils recognized the necessity to bolster their squad this summer following a disappointing 24/25 season in which they finished 15th in the Premier League and failed to secure any trophies.

They have indeed taken steps in this direction by finalizing the £62.5m acquisition of Matheus Cunha, regarded as one of the top forwards in the Premier League.

While their efforts are not yet complete, they are also vigorously pursuing the signing of Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo, who would be an excellent addition if they can finalize a deal with Brentford.

Despite this strong start to the summer, United must still pursue several additional signings if they aim to compete at the upper echelons of the Premier League once again. One critical area that requires reinforcement is the striker position.

He has noted that Galatasaray has made a £50m offer for Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen following a successful loan period and has encouraged United to follow suit. Speaking on talkSPORT, he remarked:

“I feel like a broken record. For those who listen to my podcast, I’ve been advocating for Osimhen for some time now. He is a center-forward, possesses experience, and knows how to find the back of the net at the highest level.

“I learned today that Galatasaray has submitted a £50million bid. In my opinion, £50m for a top-class striker, one of the best in the world, is a mere pittance in today’s market.

I would be disheartened if he were to join Galatasaray for that amount when Manchester United is in dire need of a No.9.

He continued: “Remember, Rome wasn’t built in a day, right? While it is natural for people to feel frustrated, there remains ample time in the transfer window.

“Of course, it would be ideal to complete your business early, which would be fantastic, but I don’t believe everything unfolds that way, and one must be exceptionally fortunate for that to occur.

“We have secured Cunha, and it appears the club is determined to acquire Mbeumo, but they are keen to finalize the deal at a price that is favorable for the club, which is an integral part of negotiations and achieving that outcome.
