IYC Educates Students About Ijaw Roots, Charges To Remain Focused Academically

The Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Eastern Zone has called on students of Comprehensive High School, Nkoro, to take pride in their Ijaw heritage and stay committed to their education.

In a post shared on Sunday, this call was made during a recent visit by the Council’s History and Education Awareness team as part of their ongoing effort to promote cultural identity and academic excellence among Ijaw youths.

The team was led by Zonal Chairman, Comrade Prince Sukubo, who spoke to the students about the importance of knowing their roots and the role of education in building a better future.

He told the students, “The Ijaw nation depends on you, to uphold our values, protect our heritage, and elevate our communities through knowledge and unity.”

The students took part in discussions about the importance of culture, education, unity, and leadership.

The IYC members reminded them that they are the future of the Ijaw nation and should always be disciplined, focused, and proud of where they come from.

Teachers and students of the school welcomed the visit and thanked the IYC for reaching out to them. The event is one of many efforts by the IYC Eastern Zone to guide and inspire young people across the region.

“This initiative marks yet another milestone in the Ijaw Youth Council Eastern Zone’s dedication to inspiring a well-informed, proud, and proactive generation ready to champion the cause of the Ijaw people, ” IYC noted.
