I Want to Play EPL, Show my Power ’, Says Osayi-Samuel

Nigeria international full-back Bright Osayi-Samuel has revealed that his decision to join Birmingham City was driven by his ambition to play in the Premier League and prove his abilities on the big stage.

The 27-year-old signed a three-year contract with the club following the expiration of his deal at Fenerbahce.

He added that coming to Birmingham City now is another step for him and an opportunity to show everyone where he has been for the last four years.

Osayi-Samuel departs the Turkish club, now managed by José Mourinho, after making 178 appearances across all competitions since his transfer from Queens Park Rangers in January 2021.

His arrival at City follows the recent signings of Demarai Gray, Tommy Doyle, and James Beadle, reflecting the club’s ambition as they prepare for life back in England’s second tier.

On the international stage, Osayi-Samuel has represented Nigeria 22 times since his debut in 2022.

His professional journey began at the age of 17 with Blackpool, where he was a key member of the team that achieved promotion from League Two via the play-offs in 2017.

Following his move to Loftus Road in the summer of 2017, Osayi-Samuel went on to feature in 103 Championship matches for Queens Park Rangers, adding to the six appearances he made in the second tier for Blackpool during the 2014-15 season.
