According to a report, Bayelsa United is preparing to kick off their training for the 2025/26 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season on Saturday, June 28, with a potential squad overhaul on the way.
The report, however, claimed that the club representative Tarila Okorowanta announced the start date during a media conference on Wednesday, indicating that the Prosperity Boys’ coaching staff will promptly begin evaluating players once they return from their off-season hiatus.
“The team is currently on break and will reconvene on June 28 to begin preparations for the 2025/26 season,” Okorowanta mentioned.

“It is at this regrouping that the technical staff will assess who will be kept and who will be brought in, depending on the needs of the team.”
Bayelsa United, who ended the previous NPFL season in 11th place and were eliminated from the President’s Federation Cup in the Round of 16, are anticipated to implement considerable changes to enhance their squad in preparation for a more challenging 2025/26 season.
The club based in Yenagoa aims for a more stable performance in the upcoming season as they seek a better league position and a deeper run in cup competitions.
