Rulers Urged to Collaborate with Stakeholders for Security

The Administrator of Port Harcourt City Council, Dr Sam Kalagbor, has urged Traditional Rulers to consider the need to partner with all relevant stakeholders to boost security in the society, especially in their domains.

Dr. Kalagbor, who made the call during an interactive session with Ikwerre Traditional Rulers, said the society was important to both the people and the government, thus the need to join forces to ensure a peaceful and crime-free society.

The Phalga Administrator and also Chairman, Association of Local Government Chairmen of Nigeria (ALGON ), in the state, said he is available for such partnership, while appealing with the Royal Fathers to engage in what he described as multi agency relationship. Dr Kalagbor further described the interactive session as apt following the rising rate of insecurity in the society and assured to always keep in touch when the need arises.

Eze Oha Evo III of Evo Kingdom and chairman of the supreme forum of Ikwerre government, recognised traditional rulers, Eze Gbakagka, thanked the Phalga Administrator for being intentional and passionate about the promotion of peace in the area. Eze Gbakagka promised that traditional rulers would do everything within their reach to maintain peace in the rural areas.
