The Administrator and Mayor of Port Harcourt City Local Government Area, Dr. Samuel Kalagbor has called on Traditional Rulers to leverage their authority, influence and knowledge to maintain peace, social cohesion, and good governance in their respective domains.
Speaking at a one-day capacity building training for the Supreme Forum of Government Recognized Ikwerre Traditional Rulers Dr. Kalagbor stated that the major aspect of maintaining security in the state can not be performed without the aid of traditional rulers.

While reiterating the importance of the theme: “The Nexus of Traditional Rulers and Modern Governments and Security Concerns” He urged them to think outside the box and leverage on the positive aspects of information and communication technology and globalisation to maintain peace and security which he noted was important to achieve development.
The Administrator while highlighting the need for collaboration between traditional rulers and local government administrations across the state also pledged to use his office as the chairman of ALGON in the state to provide the necessary support needed by the traditional rulers to tackle security challenges in their domains.
