Ayra Starr Wins Best International Act at 2025 BET Awards

Nigerian Afrobeat star Ayra Starr has made history by securing her first-ever BET Award, taking home the prestigious Best International Act at the 2025 BET Awards.

The glamorous ceremony, held at the Peacock Arena in Los Angeles on Monday night, saw Starr triumph over heavyweights like Rema and Tyla, marking a major milestone in her flourishing career.

Despite her victory, Starr faced setbacks in two other categories, Best New Artist, which went to Leon Thomas, and Best Female R&B/Pop Artist, claimed by SZA. Meanwhile, fellow Nigerian songstress Tems missed out on the BET Her Award, losing to Summer Walker despite her double nominations in the category.
