‎Obio/Akpor Residents Urged to Report Blocked Drains, Illegal Encroachments

‎As part of efforts geared towards making Obio/Akpor Local Government Area flood-resilient, the Administrator of Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, Dr. Clifford Walter, commenced a comprehensive canal inspection and clearance campaign to identify and remove blockages and unauthorized structures hindering water flow.

‎Speaking during the inspection of key canal corridors Dr. Walter emphasized that illegal dumping of refuse on waterways, erecting unapproved structures on flood plains and poor drainage habits endanger communities and undermine government efforts towards reducing the effects of flooding.

‎The Obio/Akpor Administrator reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to protecting lives and property, assuring that every mechanism will be applied to ensure canals and drainage systems are cleared and maintained.
