It was an intense first half that ended 1-1. Moses Simon of Nantes opened the scoring for Nigeria in the 9th minute, finishing off a fine move initiated by Cyriel Dessers. However, Jamaica responded swiftly, with Kaheim Dixon of Charlton Athletic equalising in the 12th minute.

Early in the second half, AC Milan’s Samuel Chukwueze restored Nigeria’s lead in the 53rd minute. But the advantage was short-lived, as Jonathan Russell of Barnsley headed home the equaliser ten minutes later after finding space in Nigeria’s box.

The win marks the first trophy for head coach Eric Chelle and the Super Eagles’ second consecutive Unity Cup triumph, having won the maiden edition in 2004.

Meanwhile, Ghana secured third place in the tournament after a commanding 4-0 victory over Trinidad and Tobago on Saturday. The Ghanaians had earlier suffered a 2-1 defeat to Nigeria in the semi-finals.
