Actor Hospitalized After Zubby Michael Lands Unscripted On-Set Kick On Him

A Nollywood film production spiraled into violence on saturday when actor Godwin Nnadiekwe sustained a serious injury during filming, leading to internal bleeding and urgent hospitalization.

According to multiple posts by Nnadiekwe, the incident unfolded when fellow actor Zubby Michael allegedly delivered a forceful kick to his chest during a scene. Nnadiekwe stressed that the kick was “neither scripted nor approved” by the production team.

A video shared by the actor captures the dramatic and disturbing moment—Zubby Michael is seen exiting a vehicle, leaping over a barricade, and forcefully kicking Nnadiekwe in the chest before fleeing into a nearby building.

“To be clear, the kick was neither planned nor rehearsed, and was entirely unscripted,” Nnadiekwe wrote. He further emphasized, “The action was unauthorized and completely outside the director’s planned sequence. It happened without my consent.”

Although he initially refrained from directly naming the assailant, the video evidence clearly identifies Michael as the individual responsible for the unexpected and aggressive act.

Nnadiekwe explained that the assault left him in severe pain and in need of immediate medical attention. He also revealed that he bore the cost of treatment alone, receiving no support from the production team.

“During a scene, I received a kick to the chest from my colleague that wasn’t part of the script or directed by the director,” he said. “It caused me serious pains. Had to get medication for my chest to feel better today. I did all these by myself. No assistance!”

The actor used the incident to highlight the importance of implementing strict safety protocols on set. He warned that all physical interactions during filming must be properly choreographed and supervised to avoid dangerous mishaps.

“Without proper insurance and immediate medical care on set, unforeseen physical scenes can have devastating effects… What if the outcome had been worse?” he questioned.

Shortly after his public appeal, Nnadiekwe’s management confirmed a deterioration in his condition, prompting an emergency hospital admission.

“We regret to inform you that Actor Godwin Nnadiekwe was rushed to the hospital this evening,” the statement read. “He is undergoing treatment for internal bleeding caused by a chest injury sustained during a film shoot with Zubby Michael.”
