NAPTIP Engages Famgbe Community in Bayelsa to Combat Human Trafficking, Related Crimes

The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), Bayelsa State Command, has intensified its fight against human trafficking by taking its sensitization outreach to Famgbe Community in Yenagoa Local Government Area.

Led by Mr. Sambo Wariebi, Head of the Public Enlightenment Unit, on behalf of the State Commander, Mrs. Abieyuwa Ikhidero, the agency engaged residents in an awareness session focused on the dangers of human trafficking, child abuse, and gender-based violence.

Mr. Wariebi underscored the vital role of community awareness and involvement in curbing such crimes, urging locals to be alert and report any suspicious activities directly to NAPTIP or through its official reporting platforms.

As part of the outreach, the NAPTIP team distributed educational and informative materials aimed at deepening residents’ understanding of these crimes and encouraging proactive community participation.

The initiative also included interactive discussions with community members to foster stronger collaboration in safeguarding vulnerable groups.
