For the first time in the club’s history, Real Madrid would be dealing with a non-football matter, as their rising star Raúl Asencio and three others were alleged of sharing explicit videos.
The incident happened in 2023 when Asencio and three former youth players from the Área Madrid Academy were alleged to have filmed and distributed sexually explicit content, one of the two women filmed being a minor.
The judge alleged that the victims, who were 18 and 16 at the time of the incident, “are currently suffering post-traumatic symptoms as a result of the experience they have been through.”
According to him, the case involves “sharing secrets without consent, violating privacy, distributing and sending videos to third parties without the consent of the women involved, the use of minors for pornographic purposes, and possession of child pornography.”
The statement from the court did not identify which players were involved or what exactly each one would be prosecuted for, but according to Spanish media, the Real Madrid star Asencio and three of his former colleagues—Ruiz Ferràn, Juan Rodríguez, and Andrés García are involved.
It was alleged that the three unnamed Real Madrid reserve players were arrested in September 2023 in connection with the incident and later released after the content of their mobile phones was extracted for investigation.

Their arrest came as a result of a complaint made by the mother of one of the victims, who lives in the Canary Islands, regarding the disturbing recording that involved her 16-year-old daughter.
The police further notified the public that the victims alleged that while their relations with the individuals who posted the video were consensual, the video was made without their consent, and that she had only recently become aware of the video.
At the time, Real Madrid released a statement saying that three of their youth players were arrested and questioned about their roles in the sexual video that was released on WhatsApp.
As things stand, the world’s most prestigious club has yet to release a statement regarding the opening of the case, in which their rising star Raúl Asencio is rumored to be a key figure.
