NAVY DISMANTLES 9 ILLEGAL REFINING SITES WITH 30 RESERVOIRS CONTAINING 173,000 LITRES OF STOLEN PRODUCTS

In a recent operation done on May 12, the Nigerian Navy Ship, NNS PATHFINDER took action against crude oil theft and illegal bunkering in the Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni area of Rivers State.

The NNS PATHFINDER’s Tactical Riverine Assault Squadron Team, acting on intelligence, discovered and dismantled nine illegal refining sites. These sites were equipped with 45 ovens, 30 reservoirs, and 75 dugout pits.

The operation led to the discovery of two wellheads connected with pipes used for siphoning crude oil.
