Suspected 2Baba Ally Kills Former Youth Leader in Rivers Community

The residents of the Odhiaje community in the Ahoada East Local Government Area (LGA) of Rivers State have witnessed another tragedy following the murder of ex-youth leader, Godspower Uwhetu.

It was gathered that an Iceland cultist, Sam, who is reportedly an ally of the late notorious kingpin, David Gift, known as 2Baba, led a group of five cultists who perpetrated the heinous crime in the early hours of Wednesday.

More details revealed that the late ex-youth leader was killed in front of his house after the group invaded his residence.

It was learnt that before his death, Uwhetu had been in hiding.

While narrating the ordeal to newsmen, Hector Chinem Ekeakita, former Public Relations Officer of Igbu Akoh Youth Congress, said that before the time of the murder, the mother of Sam had accused the deceased of alerting soldiers who invaded her son’s (Sam’s) house, affirming that he (Sam) was innocent.

According to him, he said, “This same Sam, is one of the 2Baba’s loyalists who escaped death when security agency attacked their base.”

While sending an SOS to security personnel to take action, he said, “The people of Igbu Akoh kingdom is still having shocking news of gunshots on daily basis.”

“Last week in Odieke-Akoh community, some people’s property were vandalized, their solar light vandalized. We are calling on the Sole Administrator and also the Nigeria Police, Nigeria Air Force, the IGP and Army residing in Ahoada to swing into action before something gets out of hand.”

He raised the alarm over the security challenges faced in the community and revealed that “innocent people dying on a daily basis.”

He added, “So, we are calling on the security network in Ahoada to beef up security. We are calling on the Police, JTF, and the LGA Administrator to fish the boys out who does not want to give peace chance in Ekpeye land,” Mr. Hector said.

The Rivers State Police Command spokesperson Grace Iringe-Koko was yet to comment or respond to enquiries as at press time.
