Uniport Reacts To Illegal Dump Site In The University

The attention of the Management of the University of Port Harcourt Rivers State has been drawn to a trending video circulating online showing a dumpsite within the University premises.

The University management wished to state categorically that the said dumpsite is illegal and has been in existence for over a decade.

The Management has promptly visited the site and has declared it illegal, ordered its immediate closure and evacuation, and commenced appropriate sanctions against those found culpable for operating the site.

In a statement by the University Public Relations Officer, Doc Sam Kpenu, the University of Port Harcourt remains committed to maintaining a clean, safe, and environmentally sustainable campus. We urge members of the University community and the general public to disregard any misleading interpretations associated with the video, as Management has taken swift action to address the situation.

It appreciated the vigilance of the public and encouraged continued support in safeguarding the integrity of our institution.
