Human Rights Advocate Criticizes Rivers State Sole Administrator Over Budget Proposal

A Human rights advocate, Mr. Higher King, has criticized the Sole Administrator of Rivers State, questioning his authority to propose a budget for the state. He urged the administrator to follow governor Fubara’s budget to alleviate citizen suffering in the state.

Mr. King who featured as a guest in our Live Interactive program, Democratic platform argued that the sole administrator lacks the constitutional authority to present a budget. The human rights advocate expressed concerns that the sole administrator’s rule may extend beyond the initial six-month period.

Mr. King also condemned the recent attack on protesters in Port Harcourt, emphasizing that the people of Rivers State voted for a governor, not a sole administrator, and called for the restoration of the governor’s power to address the state’s challenges.
