The Nigerian Army Declares Recruitment Drive For The 89 Regular Recruits Intake In Nigeria

The Nigerian Army has declared the start of the 89th Regular Recruits Intake Exercise for Trades/Non-tradesmen and women, with online registration available for qualified candidates until May 7, 2025.

“The Nigerian Army would like to inform the general public that online registration for the 89 Regular Recruits Intake Exercise for Trades/Non-tradesmen and women is now open for all interested and eligible applicants,” they announced.

In the official statement, it is noted that candidates must register online via https://recruitment.army.mil.ng, fill out the application form, and print the completed application, which will be needed during the selection process.

Basic eligibility requirements as outlined in the announcement include:

  • Applicants must be single and citizens of Nigeria by birth.
  • They are required to possess a valid National Identity Number (NIN) and Bank Verification Number (BVN).
  • Candidates must meet the Nigerian Army’s standards for medical, physical, and psychological fitness.
  • They should not have any criminal records.
  • Academic qualifications require at least four passes, including English for non-tradesmen applicants, while tradesmen must hold relevant trade certificates.
  • Applicants must be aged between 18 and 22 years for non-tradesmen and 18 and 26 years for tradesmen by June 30, 2025.
  • The minimum height required is 1.68 meters for males and 1.65 meters for females.
  • A valid state-of-origin certificate is mandatory.

The recruitment announcement highlighted numerous benefits for successful applicants. These include career prospects within the Nigerian Army, alongside regular and increased allowances.

Recruits will gain access to educational opportunities for further studies and experience social integration among various tribes and religions. Additionally, they will receive healthcare and welfare support, as well as the chance to own homes in desirable locations throughout Nigeria. Other benefits comprise pension and gratuity entitlements, along with the opportunity to serve the nation both domestically and internationally.

The Army stressed that all submitted documents will be thoroughly verified by the relevant issuing authorities, and any applicant found with fraudulent documents will be referred to law enforcement for prosecution.

Moreover, candidates are not required to pay any fees and are strongly cautioned against scammers. They are also advised to refrain from any misconduct or falsifying information, as all applications will be rigorously screened.

Candidates who fulfill the initial criteria will be invited to participate in a pre-selection computer-based test at specified examination centers across Nigeria.

Those who succeed in this test will move on to further screening stages at the recruitment depots from June 2 to June 30, 2025.
