Deborah Ogbonda

A concrete security breach was prevented in Ogba-Egbema Ndoni Local Government Area (ONELGA) when Traceguard Security Company Limited, a subcontractor to Oando, arrested a suspect attempting to sabotage an oil pipeline.

The suspect, identified as Mr. Chukwumela Ucheju, also known as Eke’nwaohia, was found with explosives allegedly meant to destroy an Oando pipeline. Acting on intelligence, security operatives swiftly intervened and detained him.

Ucheju has been handed over to the Joint Task Force (JTF) in Omoku for further interrogation. Authorities have confirmed that investigations are ongoing to identify potential accomplices and determine the full scope of the planned attack.

This incident further highlights the continued threats to oil infrastructure in Rivers State and the necessity of strict security measures. Residents and stakeholders are urged to stay vigilant and report any suspicious activities to law enforcement agencies without party sentiments as a loss for the State is a loss for its residents, location notwithstanding.
