As Raquel & Debbie Partners & Solicitors officially launched its legal services in Rivers State, the firm has been urged to use its platform to ensure justice and equity prevail.
The grand opening, held on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at 1 Ibaa Street, D/Line, Port Harcourt, was celebrated as a landmark moment for gender equality in the legal profession. The event brought together prominent legal figures, associates, and family members to recognize the achievement of the firm’s founding partners, Rachel Princewill and Ellen Altraide.
Speaking at the event, Cordelia Eke, Chairperson of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Port Harcourt Branch, emphasized the responsibility of the newly established women-led firm in upholding justice in the state.
She linked the firm’s launch to the recent International Women’s Day celebration, describing it as a testament to the resilience and strength of women in the legal profession.
She commended Princewill and Altraide for their bold initiative and assured them of her unwavering support in advancing their vision.
Also speaking, Chief Bede Ekwugha, a respected senior figure in the Port Harcourt legal community and mentor to Rachel Princewill, praised the founding partners for their dedication and commitment.
He pointed out the firm’s potential to inspire more women in law and urged them to uphold the highest ethical standards in the legal profession.

The event was further highlighted by a toast led by Long Williams, Esq., former Chairman of the Governing Council of the Eastern Bar Forum, alongside Dr. Peter Ayogu.
Also in attendance was NBA President, Mazi Afam Osigwe, SAN, alongside national executives including General Secretary, Dr. Mobolaji Ojibara, and Welfare Secretary, Nyada Auta, Esq. Others present included S. A. Somiari, SAN, Alternate Chairman of the Technical Committee on Conference Planning (TCCP) for the NBA Annual General Conference 2025, and Secretary, Barbara Omuson.
The occasion was also graced by representatives of FIDA Rivers State Branch and other distinguished guests.
