Rivers Govt Awaits Supreme Court Ruling to Enforce Implementation

The Rivers State Government has clarified that its legal team is currently awaiting a certified true copy of the Supreme Court’s verdict to facilitate its implementation.

The government also noted that its yet to receive formal documentation regarding the Supreme Court’s ruling delivered on February 28, 2025.

This was disclosed in an official statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Tammy Danagogo, on Wednesday.

According to the statement, as of Tuesday, March 4, 2025, key government offices—including those of the Governor, Deputy Governor, and Accountant-General—had not been furnished with any resolutions from the State House of Assembly on the matter.

Governor Siminalayi Fubara has reiterated his commitment to upholding the rule of law, assuring Rivers residents that his administration will act in full compliance with judicial directives.

Referencing his statewide broadcast on March 2, the governor emphasized that governance decisions will be rooted in legal and constitutional frameworks, irrespective of personal or political considerations.

Once received, the administration has pledged to act decisively and without delay.

Amid heightened public interest, the statement aims to dispel uncertainties surrounding the issue while reinforcing the government’s dedication to due process.
