The 56th NAACP Image Awards have recognized the exceptional talents of Nigerian artists Wizkid and Davido, who both secured significant wins.
The awards, organized by the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), honor outstanding achievements in the arts and media, highlighting the contributions of people of color.
Wizkid was awarded in the ‘Outstanding Duo, Group or Collaboration’ category for his collaboration with Brent Faiyaz. This accolade marks his sixth NAACP Image Award, solidifying his status as the most awarded Nigerian artist in the event’s history.
Davido received the ‘Outstanding International Song’ award for his duet with Chris Brown, further showcasing his influence in the global music scene.

Despite their nominations, fellow Nigerian artists did not secure wins in their respective categories.
The 56th NAACP Image Awards ceremony is scheduled to air live from the Pasadena Civic Auditorium on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at 8:00 PM ET on BET and CBS.
This year’s broadcast will be extended to 2.5 hours to accommodate the celebration of excellence across various categories. Notably, former Vice President Kamala Harris will be honored with the prestigious Chairman’s Award for her dedication to justice and equality.
